Comet C/1999 S4 discovered by project LINEAR
Each frame of this animation was a 30 second exposure and measures approximately 6 x 10 arcminutes. The camera was an ST-6 CCD mounted on a Celestron C-14 telescope located in the on-campus observatory of Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois. The photos were taken starting at 4:00 am CDT on July 14, 2000 by David Renneke. The moon had just gone down. The altitude was 35o and the azimuth was 37o.
