Click for a larger image.Larry Martin, former professor of physics at North Park University, died on Oct. 25, 2002.  He was 46.  He is survived by his wife, Susan, his parents and two brothers.  A memorial service was held in Chapel Hill, NC, on Nov. 2.

The FTD Graceful Garden BasketAfter consulting with the Council, our president, Gary Wolber, made arrangements to have flowers sent to the chapel where the service was held.  They are shown on the right.  His family has indicated that memorial contributions should be directed to North Park University, 3225 W. Foster Ave., Chicago, IL 60625.  Include a note saying the donation is to the scholarship fund in the name of Larry Martin.

At the Fall 2001 meeting of ISAAPT, Larry was an invited speaker as he talked on "Tour of MathML and VPython".  He also lead a workshop on WebAssign, software which he created and which is now used in over 700 schools.  He was very active in the Chicago section of AAPT.  We will miss him.
