I like the "stripes" as they resemble interference fringes. I like "Illinois Section" above, as it matches better with the acronym ISAAPT. |

My only concern about #2 is if there is need for a black and white logo, rather than a shades of gray logo, either the swirls will fill the center of the second "A" or they will need to be omitted. |

Although 3 and 4 appear to be an interesting interference pattern, I feel that it detracts from the shape of the state. In #1, placing "Illinois Section" below, mutes the swirl pattern. |

I would try #3 with a larger font size and darker color blue to stand out against the colors in the state. I also like #2 |

I'm seeing thin film interference lines on this drawing like those between two glass plates from the old PSSC experiment. Seems the weight of the ISAAPT is causing lines to be thicker (cool). Seems the straight to curved lines should have more lines in transition, Starting say at line between Quad cities and Kankakee rather than St. Louis and Champaign. Just a thought that wouldn't require too much extra thought and effort. |

May fit the golden rule, and put Illinois ahead. |

The order of "Illinois Section AAPT" is consistent with our name whereas "AAPT Illinois Section" is not. Images 3 and 4 are too "busy" and the supposed interference bands looks too much like an apple to me. |
