Call for 15 Minute Contributed Presentations

Atomic Force Microscope

Reminder:  The title of your presentation should be submitted by Friday, Mar. 16.  The deadline for all of the information is Friday, Mar. 23.  Use this form on two occasions if necessary.

We solicit your innovative ideas and student projects in any area of classroom physics. Many of you have proven, clever methods and techniques and we want to hear them. Some of you have students who are involved with you on a student research project. If you would like to share a summary of your work, please submit a one paragraph description by filling out the following form.  The length of the presentation is 15 minutes, including time for questions.

To encourage wider participation there are five categories of presentations: (a) Active Learning, (b) Teaching Methods, (c) Demonstrations, (d) Research, and (e) Student Research Symposium.  One of the boxes below allows you to select the category.  For the first three categories, please bring about 70 copies of a single sheet or half-sheet handout to the meeting with Title, Name and Date listed at the top.

If you have just filled out the five lines above and plan to fill out the remainder at a later date, scroll down and click Submit.  When you return, it will be necessary to fill out the entire form including the five lines above and Submit again.  In either case, the information is immediately displayed in Details.

Please underline the name of the person(s) giving the presentation. Do this in the next box by inserting <u> before the name and </u> after the name.  All those who have collaborated on a Research project should be listed in this box.

Use the next box for a one paragraph description.  Automatic word wrap is provided.  Copy and Paste from a word processor works fine.  You may also use HTML tags.  For example, for subscripts (e.g. TC) use "T<sub>C</sub>".  For superscripts (e.g. cm3) use "cm<sup>3</sup>".  The description should be clear and brief.  The length of the description must be 150 words or less.

Please specify your audio visual and computer requirements in the next box.  In particular, indicate if you plan to use a PowerPoint file.  We plan to pre-load all PowerPoint files on the classroom computer you will be using.
