Physics Club Trip - University of Wisconsin, Madison - Thursday, April 8, 2004

Parking is always an issue on this campus.  My best suggestion would be to park in the Lake Street ramp between University Avenue and State Street.  It is about a 10- or 15-minute walk to Sterling Hall, and there is a McDonald's right next door if that appeals to you.

We would be happy to arrange for tours here in Engineering Physics and could easily fill up an hour and 30 minutes, if that is what you want. We have tokamak and inertial electrostatic confinement fusion experiments, plasma-aided manufacturing labs, fluid flow/reactor safety labs, shock tube lab, ion-materials interaction (accelerator) lab, nanotechnology labs, micro-mechanics and solid mechanics labs and more (we have a nuclear reactor lab, but because of construction we can't give tours right now).

This email is to confirm a tour here at the SRC from 10:00 to 11:30. For a map and directions on how to get to the SRC please see: http://www.src.wisc.edu/about_SRC/SRC_Directions.htm

The SRC is located South of the Physical Sciences Lab (PSL), the building next to Schneider Drive. Parking is available next to PSL. You can then walk to the SRC. Bob Legg, the SRC operations manager, will be your contact (608-877-2162).
