1. Ammon received the following email:

Dear Physics Club,

On behalf of Augustana Circle K, I would like to thank you for participating in our coin drive for Spastic Paralysis Research.  The Physics Club's final total reached $14.53.  Your donation is greatly appreciated.  With your help, this year we were able to raise $200 with our coin drive!  I would also like to congratulate you on having the most pennies per member.  Your club won the coin drive competition.  As promised, your club will received a pizza party from Augustana Circle K for your efforts.  Please contact me as when would be a good time for this so I can make the appropriate arrangements  Thank you,

Rebecca Seib, Augustana Circle K, Fundraising Chair

2. The Panel Discussion will be Monday April 25th at 5pm in Wallenberg Hall.  Mike Boyle will be contacting the possible speakers.  Email daniel-barrett with possible questions for the panel; the theme is the end of the universe
3. The Robotics team qualified for Nationals but unfortunately are unable to finance the trip.  Anyone who knows businesses willing to sponsor them should email Dr. Vogel.
4. T-shirts and polos are finally here!  Talk to Dr. Vogel to pay/pick yours up.
5. We have volunteered at a Science Fair to be held on April 28th.  Email daniel-barrett if you are interested in attending.
6. Our next meeting will be held on April 14, 2005 at 11:30 am.
That's all for the minutes; have a great week!

1. The panel discussion is coming up on Monday April 25. The topic is "The End of the Universe". Please brainstorm topic-appropriate questions and post them on the Facebook message board.  Some possible questions include the how, when and why of the end of the universe.  Pastor Priggie and Dr. Carkner have agreed to be on the panel; the other panelists have been contacted and have not responded yet.
2. Possible social events for the Physics Club were discussed. Bowling, movies (Episode 3, Hitchhiker's Guide) and a baseball game are all possibilities.
3. Shirts are in! The SPS polos are $21 and the SPS t-shirts are $16.
4. We decided on a design for the Physics Club t-shirt. Details about ordering one will be sent out later.
5. Tom, Mike B. and Dan talked about their experiences at the Zone 9 meeting in Plattville. Overall, they had a good time and met some rather interesting people.
6. The Physics Club would like to sponsor an event on campus, possibly an egg drop, spaghetti bridge-building or trebuchet building competition. More details will be discussed at an upcoming meeting.
7. The pizza party that we won from the penny competition was tasty and fun. Yay pennies!
8. The next meeting is on Thursday, 4-21-2005 at 11:30 am in order to get back on our usual schedule of meetings during odd-numbered weeks of the term.

1. Our Panel Discussion on Monday, Apr. 25 was very interesting. Dr. Mann, Pastor Priggie, Dr. Carkner and Dr. Fasano carried on a lively and thought-provoking debate with lots of audience participation. Thanks to all who attended.
2. We are going to a Science Fair tomorrow (Thursday 4-28-05) at Willard Elementary in Moline to do some demonstrations. We will be leaving from the Science building (room 120) at 5:15pm. Email daniel-barrett if you plan to attend (or just come to room 120). The fair itself is from 6-7:30pm.
3. The planetarium open house is this Saturday (4-30-05) from 8:30-10pm. If you would like to help out, please plan to arrive at the planetarium around 8pm.
4. Also this Saturday, the Physics Club is going to lunch at Dr. Sieglaff's house at noon. In the afternoon will plan to go to the movie "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."  The show times are not yet posted online; an email will be sent out as soon as they are posted. If you would like to attend, please email daniel-barrett no later than Friday afternoon so we can arrange rides and let Dr. Sieglaff know how many people will be coming to his home.
5. The design for the club T-shirt is being worked on by Mihailo and will be presented at the next meeting. The T-shirt will be royal blue with white writing. Dan is checking on pricing.
6. Our next meeting will be Thursday May 5th, at 11:30am.
