Open House at Augustana College - "Physics MythBusters"

Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 1:00-4:00 pm
First Floor, Science Building

We will bust myths and common misconceptions about temperature, light, motion, phases of matter, and more!

Do you think it has to be hot for something to boil?
Can we hammer nails with a banana?
Can liquids be hard?
Is levitation possible?
Is air a gas?
Are lasers always red dots?
Are all explosions hot?

The answers may surprise you.  Demonstrations will be presented by Augustana students who are members of the Physics Club.

Here are some photographs taken at the open house.   View the slide show.
