Gopal Revankar

Gopal Revankar holds several engineering degrees including a Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has held executive positions in Indian steel plants before he pursued his graduate studies in the USA. After a year as a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin, Madison and two years as a faculty member at the University of Northern Iowa, he joined Deere & Company in 1979 where he is now conducting research in advanced materials. He has several patents to his credit. He served as President of the John Deere Chapter of Sigma Xi in 1985.

Dr. Revankar will present his experience and the experience of his colleagues in creative and innovative activities to show how the mind strives in research situations to find solutions to problems. The talk will present some historic instances of brilliant inventors to support the fact that the creativity of the mind increases with concentration. It will conclude with implications of concentration enhanced faculty of the mind in today's life whether it is business or personal.
