The John Deere Chapter of Sigma Xi is pleased to announce the following program.

New member induction.  We are pleased to announce that Megan Bales has done research, has otherwise met the qualifications for associate membership in Sigma Xi, and will be inducted as a new member during a brief ceremony at the beginning of this meeting.  Congratulations Megan!

Special ceremony.  Several associate members of Sigma Xi are graduating this spring.  In a brief ceremony preceding the talk, they will be honored with the presentation of a Sigma Xi cord, to be worn with their graduation gown on the day of commencement.  Each student will bring us up to date on their plans for the future.  We wish them the very best in their future research projects.

For over 90 years, the University Hygienic Laboratory has dealt with environmental problems critical to the health and the quality of life of Iowans.  Dr. Gilchrist is a nationally recognized expert on the public health response to bioterrorism.  She is a member of the Secretary of Health and Human Services Advisory Council on Public Health Preparedness.
