The winter meeting was the "Premiere of NOVA ScienceNow", a new hour-long PBS science magazine.  It was held on January 25, 2005 at Rivermont Collegiate School in Bettendorf, Iowa.  A preview airing of the 1-hour program was followed by a panel discussion with local experts on the phenomena presented.
On April 28, 2005, we learned about "The Diverse and Imperiled Illinois Flora" in a talk by Dr. Jason Koontz, Biology Dept., Augustana.  This meeting was held at Black Hawk College, Moline, Illinois.  Sigma Xi cords were given to student members who are graduating in May.  They told us their plans for future studies and research.
