Research Presentations - 2007

New associate members of the chapter inducted in November presented either a 10 minute talk or a poster describing the research that they have been doing.
Our spring meeting on Mar. 18, 2008 featured a prominent research scientist, Dr. Donald Wuebbles of the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois.  The event was a special Science Café event held at the Quad City Botanical Center in Rock Island.  His topic was "The Role of Humanity in Global Warming".  There was an excellent turnout (129) including many college students.  Dr. Wuebbles presented the data, showed the projections of his models, and listed some of the solutions to global warming. There were many good questions and the evening concluded with conversation and refreshments.
