Comments on Preparing for Test 1

  • Review your notes, review the chapter summaries, look over your homework

  • Equations and constants will be provided

  • Types of questions:  multiple choice, problems, definitions, explanations via a PV diagram

  • Partial credit is given for problem solutions if the physics is correct but mistakes are made in the calculations

  • Bring your calculator

  • Get a good night's sleep before the day of the test.  Cramming the night before seldom works.
  • Read over the entire test before starting the first problem. Your subconscious will start working on the latter problems.  Express answers to three significant figures.
