|"Olavus Petri" - Part II|
|The Lutheran Journal, Vol. 59, #1, 1990 - Erwin Weber|
In the last issue of the journal, we discussed Petri's place of birth, his early schooling, his university studies, and the political situation leading up to Gustav Vasa's imprisonment in Denmark.
This issue continues with Vasa's and Petri's return to Sweden, his duties at Strangnas, the Stockholm Massacre, Vasa's recruitment of an army in Darlana, Petri's preaching at Storyrkan or the Great Church in Stockholm, the establishment of the Lutheran Church as the Church of State in Sweden and Petri's burial in the Great Church in Stockholm. A church was built in Petri's honor in Örebro in 1912.
