Zion Lutheran Church at Penn Ridge - Trivoli, Illinois

When I visited the various Lutheran churches throughout Illinois in 1975, I obtained the following information: Peoria County Lutherans, who built this building four miles south of Trivoli, were largely settlers from Juanita County, Pennsylvania, and organized their congregation as St. John’s in 1849. The name was changed to Zion in 1852, about the time of their building’s completion. Still an active congregation of 41 members, Zion is served by a pastor from Peoria.
