Glad you stopped in. I enjoy visitors.

For many years I worked as a research scientist and a professor of physics. During the ten years that I carried out research at the General Motors Research Laboratories in the 1950's and 60's I studied the movement of small impurity atoms in a variety of solid materials. I enjoyed writing, not only technical articles, but also review articles about my research. I came to Augustana College in 1964 to head the physics department. The next 28 years passed very quickly as I combined teaching physics to energetic Augustana students and carrying out research on small impurity atoms in metals during the summers. In the later years the research was done in collaboration with scientists at Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Illinois. Part of it involved use of a supercomputer at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois.

After I retired from full time teaching I began devoting more time to a lifelong interest, the relationship between science and theology. In addition to doing a considerable amount of reading, I have also been doing some writing. Here are the books that I have completed and others that I am working on.
